Scots Tripped Up in Road Opener

Aurora, Ill. - The Alma College men's soccer team lost in its road opener on Friday (Sept. 8) evening. The Scots fall to 0-2-1 while Benedictine is now 3-1.

What Happened

  • The game's only goal was scored by Francisco Delgado in the 45th minute. He shot and scored from 35 yards out.
  • The Scots were paced by sophomore Noah Canlas (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville Central), who took five shots, three of them on goal.


  • Though Benedictine outshot Alma 13-10, the Scots had six shots on goal to the Eagles' three.
  • Sophomore keeper Garrison Mast (Grand Haven, Mich. / Grand Haven) made two saves in the game.
  • Alma took six corner kicks in the game to Benedictine's four.
  • Eighteen fouls were committed, eleven by the Scots.

What's Next

The Scots take to the road once more this week. They'll travel to Aurora University in Illinois to play the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10.
