Men's Soccer Alum Jeff Beck Lands Spot on NPSL Team

Alma, Mich. - Former Alma College soccer player Jeff Beck has recently signed with the Sioux Falls Thunder Football Club which plays in the National Premier Soccer League. The NPSL was founded in 2003 and has 96 teams across the country.

"Jeff's biggest attribute on the athletic field was his willingness to do whatever it took to help point the team toward success," said Oakley. "He was also a very cerebral player, using his mind to get the advantage when playing angles or challenging for 50/50 balls."

Beck played one season under Head Coach Josh Oakley in 2011 when Beck was a senior.

"If you look at both Jeff and Julian Birge - the Alma Soccer alums to have signed semi pro contracts this summer - you see two hard working soccer players. Perhaps, most importantly, they are two scholar athletes who were incredible students while they were at Alma College, and are still doing great things on a soccer field at the next level!"
