Holland, Mich. - The Alma College men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-9 loss to Hope College on the opening night of play in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association at Van Andel Stadium.
Freshman Chase Hunyadi (Pepper Pike, Ohio/University School) led Alma (6-4, 0-1 MIAA) with four goals, marking the fifth straight game he has scored two or more times. Hunyadi, with 26 goals this season, has netted four or more goals in four of his last five appearances.

Max Kuiper led Hope (6-3, 1-0 MIAA) with a game-high five goals.
The Scots scored first when Buchy netted his first goal 21 seconds into the game and traded goals with the Dutch in the first seven minutes before Hope took the lead for good at 4-3 with 6:04 to play in the opening quarter.
The Dutch added four goals in the second and three in the third quarter to take a 11-5 advantage after 45 minutes. Each team scored four times in the final quarter, but Alma could not get any closer than five goals.
