Alma, Mich. - The Alma College men's golf team finished their season in seventh place at the MIAA Championships on October 8. The team competed in eight total events this year, including the MIAA Jamboree, the Lou Collins Invitational, and two rounds of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship.

The best event for the Scots was on September 3, when they placed ninth of 12 teams at the Lou Collins Invitational. Senior Alec Genter (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) tied for ninth overall with his score of 73 (+3).

It was a stellar season for Genter. He was named MIAA Men's Golfer of the Week on October 10, and was named to the All-MIAA Second-Team at the end of the season after placing sixth overall at the MIAA finals with his score of 151 (+7). He had team-high scores at the third and fourth MIAA Jamborees, with scores of 79 and 77 respectively.

The Scots will graduate three seniors; Genter, Aaron Griffin (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) and Ben Thelen (St. Johns, Mich./St. Johns). They are coached by Charlie Goffnett, who is in his 29th year of coaching men's and women's golf at Alma College.
