Freeland, Mich. - Ryan Stevens (Lowell, Mich. / Lowell) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association football offensive athlete of the week for his performance at Albion on Saturday (Oct. 5).
Stevens was instrumental in the Scots' 32-28 come-from-behind win over the Britons. Alma trailed by 15 going into the fourth quarter and Stevens led the team on three consecutive scoring drives, including the go-ahead 35-yard touchdown run with 2:24 left. He began the quarter with a four-yard score with a QB sneak on 3rd and goal, then found Austin Spratling (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Wyoming Kelloggsville) for a 59-yard score on Alma's next drive to pull to within three. The 35-yard run that came on the next possession is the longest of his career. Stevens totaled 156 all-purpose yards in the fourth quarter alone; he had a total of 283 total yards in the game.
