Alma, Mich. - The Alma College football team begins preparation for its 2017 season today (Friday, Aug. 11) as the Scots report to campus for preseason training camp.
Head Coach Greg Pscodna expects 126 players on the field when the team conducts its first official practice at 7:45 p.m. on Friday at Bahlke Field. Included in that group is 21 seniors, led by quarterback Dylan Zaborowski (Jackson, Mich./Michigan Center), returning for his fourth year as a starter, and linebacker Zac Peterson (Holt, Mich./Holt), who has led the defense in tackles in each of the last two seasons.
"Our goal every year is to win a MIAA championship," said Pscodna, who enters his sixth season at the helm of the Alma program. "We have a solid core of senior leadership on this year's team and I'm looking forward to getting them on the field to begin preparing for our season opener."
The Scots, which finished 7-3 a year ago for the program's best record since 2004, open the season on Saturday, Sept. 2, traveling to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, Pa.
