Olivet, Mich. - The Alma College Cheerleading/STUNT team swept its competition on Sunday (Feb. 4) as the Scots competed at the Olivet College STUNT Tournament.
Alma (4-1 overall) defeated the host Comets in a modified game, 18-0, and then outscored the University of Michigan, 21-4, to remain perfect on the afternoon.
How It Happened
- Alma opened the day with an 18-0 win over Olivet in a modified game. Each team could only use routines 1-3 and only performed three routines each quarter.
- Against Michigan, Alma never lost a routine, but tied the Wolverines twice in the first quarter and once during the first section of the final two routines of the fourth quarter. The Scots swept all the routines in the second and third quarters.
- The Scots are 2-0 against Olivet this season, having defeated the Comets 18-0 in both matches.
Alma will travel to East Lansing, Mich., - the site of the 2018 College STUNT National Championships - to participate in the Michigan State University Stunt Tournament on Sunday, Feb. 11. The Scots will take on Ferris State University at 12:45 p.m., followed by a 2:45 p.m. meeting with the University of Michigan. Alma will close out the day against the host Spartans at 4:30 p.m. All games will take place at MSU's Jenison Field House.
