East Lansing, Mich. - The Alma College STUNT team swept all three of its games at the Michigan State University STUNT Tournament on Sunday (Feb. 10).
The Scots (5-1) defeated the University of Michigan 21-0, Grand Valley State University 20-10 and the host Spartans 15-12.
How It Happened
- Alma opened the day against MSU and earned points in each of the first 10 rounds, tying the Spartans in partner stunts four and six, pyramids three and jump and tumble two. Up 11-5 after three quarters, MSU won each routine in the first round of the fourth quarter to pull to within three. Alma would keep its distance, though, taking two of the three routines in each of the next two rounds to seal the win.
- The Scots swept Michigan 21-0 in the second game before squaring off against Grand Valley. Alma only dropped one routine to the Lakers: fourth routine pyramids in the first round of the fourth quarter. It won each round of the third routine as well as the first round of the first routine
The Scots host the Alma College Cheer Invite on Sunday (Feb. 17). Alma will face Maryville at 10 a.m., Davenport at 11:30 a.m. and will have a rematch against Michigan State at 3:30 p.m.
