Alma, Mich. - In anticipation of the 2016-17 athletics season, the Alma College athletic department has revealed a new website recently, along with a new mobile app and an increased presence on social media.
AlmaScots.com, redesigned through a collaboration between the Alma College communications and marketing office, athletic department, and PrestoSports, is the new home of Scots athletics and features a responsive design that scales to desktop computers, tablets and phones. The design, which embraces the colors of the school's tartan, also makes navigation much simpler for visitors to find the information they desire.
"We are very proud of the new look of Alma College athletics on the web," said Paul Thomas, sports information director. "With our active and growing base of fans and alumni, we wanted to design an experience that makes following the Scots and connecting with the teams a seamless experience."
Along with the new website, Alma Scots Front Row, a new mobile app designed by PrestoSports, has also launched. The free app is available on both iOS and Android platforms and gives fans access to score updates, statistics and game recaps. Users can also receive breaking news, scores and alerts from their favorite sports through a notifications option.
"The introduction of our mobile app allows us to take the next step in making the Scots more accessible to our fans and alumni," Thomas said. "Now everyone can have instant access to live scoring, video, stats and news for the sporting events they want to follow from their mobile device."
The athletic department also increased its presence on social media heading into the coming season, launching a new Facebook page along with a new Instagram account. Those compliment the Scots' Twitter account, @GoAlmaScots.
